Canon 50mm lens is among those lenses which I have been using since my initial days as a photographer. Initially, I used to work with Canon 50mm lens along with the kit lenses we get when we buy a new DSLR camera and those were Canon 18-55mm and 55-250mm lenses. Just because I have mentioned “Basic Kit Lens” it would be unfair to underestimate the quality of these two lenses. It works wonders if you are using it properly for sure.
I have covered many big events, wedding ceremonies and I love to click randomly candids on streets. I mean this is the time when you can actually click amazing shots of people with unexpected expressions and people love it. With Canon 50mm lens you are actually able to capture those moments with brilliantly fine quality images. Even if it’s dark this lens work remarkable in low light and gives amazing aperture behind, pictures you can never forget about.
So in short, this lens not just give you sharp images but also works amazingly in low light. You can click Portraits, Action and don’t forget it is also very light and you can carry it very easily. It is this small that you can actually put it in your Jeans Pocket. But definitely, it’s not that safe if you do that so don’t even try. haha

Here are some of the pictures I clicked when I was using Canon 50mm lens for the first time, It was my best friend’s birthday and even she was very excited about it.
Here you can see the aperture of my Canon 50mm lens was set to its minimum limit i.e 1.8 and that makes the object amazingly sharp and blurred the background and no doubt that also made her look more beautiful here, Guys note it down 50mm also gives you the ability to impress your friends. haha!
This is another amazing picture I clicked that day! You might observe there is a little less light in this picture as compared to the above one. But if you have 50mm no worries it is going to be all fine.
Okay was I supposed to upload this picture? I don’t think so. I hope she won’t get mad. In this picture, you can observe the sun rays are coming from the left side and give another brilliant shade to the picture with aperture 5.6. thus no blurry background. I remember how I used to teach these basic concepts to her while going out on shoots.
Canon also provides one more version of this lens with aperture 1.4 and that gives more power or we can say power to produce more fine quality images for you. But we will talk about it in our next article.
I would highly recommend this lens to the budding photographers who are interested in clicking portraits, action, close-ups, low light condition and any other shot you like. it is an all in one lens which you will never regret trying.
